Just a Poem

In ties of purple and red
I sit in church; but inside my head
I walk in desert lands: that are my home.

In ties of purple and red,
I leave the road
And wander instead.

In ties of purple and red
I cry silent tears for those without bread
To eat on this rainy morning.

I wait patiently as the flute plays; therein
The empty place in my heart
Wonders when life will begin.
